Obituary of Barbara Hartenstein

Barbara (Ames) Hartenstein, 86, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Albert H. Hartenstein, died Tuesday December 30, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. Born February 13, 1928 in Glastonbury, daughter of the late Charles B. and Eliza (Garbari) Ames, she was a lifelong resident. Prior to her retirement she was a secretary for Arbor Acres. Barbara was a long time member of the Buckingham Congregational Church. Besides her husband she is survived by 2 daughters, Karen Hartenstein of Marlborough, Janet Cox of Gulf Breeze, FL, a brother Roger Ames of Colchester, 5 grandchildren Christine LaBombard, Jennifer Trombley, Matthew LaBombard, Lisa Antunas da Silva Loki, Eric Collins, and 5 great grandchildren, Gabriella, Nathaniel, Hannah, Jack, and Eli. She was predeceased by a brother Charles F. Ames. Funeral service will be Monday January 5, 2015 at 11am in the Buckingham Congregational Church, 16 Cricket Lane, Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Buckingham Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
