Mr. Mihm was my GHS physics teacher in '70/'71. So much fun, experimenting in physics with air tracks, air tables, water tables, strobe lights, timed photos, springs, sticky tape, electric spark tape, you name it! What a class and what a fantastic teacher!!

A great teacher with a wonderful sense of humor. Always patient, interesting, and genuinely engaged with the class. Mr. Mihm was as much as "one of us" as he was our educator. I was dating someone who used to stop by the door to class and wave. Mr. Mihm would just smile and say, "Mr. Rowley, I believe someone is trying to get your attention." That's how he was. Every class was an event and he welcomed anything that brought the experience to life,no matter how far off script. A treasure of the Glastonbury educational experience. My condolences to his family.

I remember Mr. Mihm, although, not in Physics class. I hope that all of the
students at GHS and every school, appreciate the dedication of conscientious
teachers. With heartfelt sympathy to Mr. Mihm's family.

I graduated Glastonbury High School in 1966. Mr. Mihm was one of the most wonderful teachers I've ever had. He was so happy and friendly I couldn't wait to get to class. God Bless you Richard Mihm.

Mr Mihm was the best teacher I ever experienced. I was one of the many students at GHS that benefited by his experientially based learning program in Physics. He invented this program knowing that lessons learned through his lab based experiments would stick and every student would never forget. We had the benefit of writing programs for PDP 11 computers which he got access to at Trinity College in 1970, unheard of for any high school students at the time. Just as important, was Mr Mihm’s attentive mentorship to us all. He was a true coach, not just physics, but life in general, always the listener and contrarian, helping us to see things around us anew. There is no way I can be more grateful for having Mr Mihm in my life and with a tear in my eye I say farewell and God Bless!

I took a summer ecology class from Mr Mihm in the mid 1960's. This was before we knew what ecology meant, but I sure understood the word after hiking around Glastonbury with this class, scooping up samples from streams and forest, and enjoying every minute of it. I never took his physics class, but I recall so clearly craning my neck while I was in the art room, to see what they were doing with those slinkys.

Such a wonderful human being! So much fun to be around . . . so inspiring . . so kind and respectful when interacting with others. Mr. Mihm was one of the finest teachers and friends I have ever had. I am fortunate to have known him. Simply, he was one of the good guys. My condolences. Chuck GHS class of '70
