Scott and Jennifer, I’m so sorry but I’m not going to be able to go to Loretta’s funeral. It breaks my heart but My family has the flu. We have had it for a week so far. I know that Loretta would’ve been upset if we did go. I was hoping to see you and your family. I know that our families will miss her very much. Personally I’ll miss her love, kindness and her addictive laugh. God bless, Gail

God bless you, Loretta. I will always remember you and Joe at Aunt Mary's house on Baltimore Street. Every Sunday we would all meet for dinner, share food and spend very happy times together. I can still picture you with Hilda in your lap. The last time I saw you was at Joe's funeral. I know you have reunited with him and that you will be together forever. Love, Andrea

Loretta was a second mother to me. I have known her my whole life. Loretta and Joe lived across the street from my family when they lived in East Hartford (about 30 years) prior to moving to Glastonbury. I have many happy memories of Loretta. Loretta loved her dachshunds. Her dachshund Hilda would join the neighborhood ladies for coffee and wait patiently for her saucer of coffee. Loretta was a wonderful cook and mentor and I loved her very much. Joe and Loretta called me Kitten. When Joe traveled for Pratt and Whitney he saved me mini bottles of cream de mint that they served on the airplane. When he arrived home he would pour it over vanilla ice cream as a treat for me. I still have a bottle. It’s almost 50 years old. Loretta and Joe were very special to me. Prior to my wedding my father had a heart attack. I didn’t know it at the time that my father asked Joe to walk me down the aisle if he didn’t survive. For my wedding day I bought Loretta a corsage in appreciation for the love and kindness they they shared with me. Joe and Loretta walked down the aisle with my family. My parents and Loretta and Joe were with us when we were deciding to buy our home. And when my son arrived from Korea, they were waiting to greet him. Christopher called them Papa Joe and Retta. Through the years Loretta was always part of our family. She was with us at sad times, baptisms, birthday parties, holidays, and always St. Patrick’s Day to celebrate her birthday. She was a lovely person, a family friend with a wonderful sense of humor. She was such a special person and always there for me. I will miss her so very much. I was blessed to have her in my life.
