John (never a Jack with me) and I grew up near each other in Fullerton and it was our practice starting in the 4th grade to ride our bikes to school together. I was flattered to be his friend - he was one of the most popular kids in our class - primarily because of his wicked sense of humor and infectious laugh. Also, he was always one of the firs to be chosen for any sport. Knowing him built my confidence up, so I look on him as very influential in helping shape the extraordinary person I am today. (Cue John's laughter) After I got kicked out of St Juliana's, we drifted apart, seeing each other rarely but happy to catch up. It is only fond memories I have of John. We fought only once - he won - and just as quickly, he forgave/forgot. He reconnected via Facebook but sadly I was such an infrequent user, I did not see the request for a year or so. We traded posts a year ago, he telling me he was in CT, me telling him I was in Baltimore. That laugh of his lives on in me as well as the many antics we youngsters got into. I truly wish we could have seen each other one more time. Rest in peace from Henface.

John and I attended St. Juliana's and Servite together. We carpooled to Servite over the 4 years we attended high school. He was a character, constantly cutting up and making us laugh.
My condolences to his family.

Gayle, Michael and David:
Please accept my condolences on the loss of Jack. Jack and I were close friends while we attended Servite high school together and in the several years that followed. Jack was a great friend and was always the "life of the party" at gatherings of his friends. Though we were separated by thousands of miles and had not seen or spoken to each other in 30 years, I still hold his memory close. He will be missed. Know that I and Jack's other and many friends and Servite brothers pray for him and your family at this time.

Johnny, you will be missed. Even though our paths rarely crossed we always enjoyed our time with you. You were a good family man and you and Gail raised a lovely family. We will pray for you until we cross paths again.

As new neighbors last year we were grateful to see a constant friendly face from both Jack and Gayle. I remember the first time I met Jack after his illness began. His warm heart was apparent and his jokes uplifting. What a sweet and witty man! We are forever thankful that we connected, even for a short time, and that he felt comfortable enough to lean on us in a moment of need. Jack's loss is deeply felt. Still, we feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet such a nice man. We send our love and support to the family as they heal through their loss.

I met Jack in first grade at St. Juliana's and we became fast friends and remained friends through high school. Jack had the craziest sense of humor I have ever seen even to this day. He could find humor in any situation. He had an infectious laugh and was always fun to be around. Although we lost touch after high school, we reconnected on Facebook
and actually spoke on the phone last year. He was the same Jack. As the saying goes "The good die young"! He was and he did! Far too young!
