Obituary of John Robert "Jack" McGraw, Jr.

John “Jack” Robert McGraw, Jr. (78) of Glastonbury, CT died peacefully Thursday, June 28, 2018 with his family by his bedside. Born July 10, 1939 in Carlisle, PA, he was the son of the late Dr. John Robert McGraw, Sr. and Mary Evelyn (Ridlon) Adams.  He is survived by his first wife Beverly Ann (Moody) McGraw and pre-deceased by his second wife, Barbara (Boyce) McGraw.  Jack served in the USAF as a linguist during the Korean War.  A Certified Public Accountant, Jack retired from United Technologies where he was a comptroller and manager of Internal Audit for Pratt & Whitney and Sikorsky Aircraft.  He served on the Buckingham Congregational Church finance committee and volunteered as a tax preparer for seniors in Gorham, ME.  An avid motorcyclist, and lifetime HOG member, Jack traveled many N.E. miles with friends and family. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Jack is survived by his three children, Joseph Dwight McGraw and Angela D’Alessandro of Hebron, Thomas James McGraw and his wife Pamela of Glastonbury, and Sarah Elizabeth McGuire and her husband Joseph of Marlborough; his sister, Roberta (McGraw) Vitols and husband Visvaldis “Viv” of Cambria, CA; brother Edmund “Ted” Joseph Adams and his son Mark Edmund Adams of Gorham, ME; and eight grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth (McGraw) Bluhm and her husband Aaron of Austin, TX, Bradley Thomas McGraw and Meredith Greene of Brooklyn, NY,  Maxwell Gordon McGraw (pre-deceased), Madison Grace McGraw, Jack William McGraw, Megan Ann McGuire, Michael John McGuire, and Daniel Joseph McGuire; great-grandson Finn Bluhm; and many nieces and nephews.  A special thank you to the staff at Brookdale Buckingham, Vitas Healthcare and all who took special care of Jack.  Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury, CT and Eastern Cemetery, Gorham, ME.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489 or www.alz.org.  To share a memory of Jack with his family, please visit www.mulryanfh.com.
