We have so many memories of our amazing Grandmother. She was the most caring, loving, thoughtful, and peaceful women you would ever meet. The memories are endless. I (John) personally remember her ability to always make me feel special. She always opened her house to all of our family, no matter what the circumstance. I actually spent a whole summer with her on Cape Cod. That was a very special summer for me. That was when I really got to know how special a person Grammy Noble was. She would always stay up waiting for me to get home. I would be walking or riding my bike home from work at 10:00 PM and she would be waiting on the couch for me. I can picture her there now just popping up from a light sleep, asking me how my day went. The true measure of a person is how they treat the people they meet in their life. She always made sure that you felt special and were important to her in every way. My grandmother/ my kids Great Grammy, will always live in our hearts. I was so very grateful to spend everyday with her for almost a month, a month before her passing. Grammy we love you and may you rest in peace with your family!

Several months ago, Mary shared a special gift with her family. She parted with the letters written by her husband during World War II. The letters span from 1942-1945 and track pretty well the timeline of the War. The letters fill three binders encompassing about 600 plastic sleeves. The central theme of the letters is faith and family. However, they also contain some really great anecdotes about the era. They both seemed to listen to the radio program Hit Parade at least weekly. They refer to what seems like hundreds of their favorite songs. They were huge movie fans with references to endless movies including Bogart, etc. But, they always returned to faith and family. There are numerous references to Grandpa attending Mass from basic training in South Carolina, or while on special assignment in Washington, DC, or during his deployments in England, France and Germany. It was clear that Gram was keeping track of his allegiance to Mass attendance. Some of Grandpa's closest confidantes while deployed were priests. Finally, virtually every letter discussed to some degree the well-being of family. For instance, Gram gave repeated updates on her brothers while Grandpa talked about his parents. The letters richly capture their courting period, engagement and eventual marriage which was delayed much longer than either wished. I was especially moved by the numerous references in the letters to their desire for the war to end so that they could focus on raising a "little Maureen." They eventually got their wish and Maureen would much later give birth to me. I can't thank Gram enough for sharing the letters. It was not easy for her as she was a very private person. But, I have to believe that she knew they would allow her family to better understand where they came from and who they are.

I will remember Mary the most during all of our holiday get togethers. It was amazing to have so many generations under one roof and she was always there to share every laugh we were all having. She will be missed by all of us but her spirit will forever be with us.

I will always remember Mary as a wonderful mother and grandmother. The Noble, McCarthy and Powers family were privileged to have her for 92 years. Her " Irish Eyes" are smiling down on them now.

Mom was the best Mom anyone could have. She was so devoted to her family and always put them first. Our fondest memories are at the holidays especially Christmas Eve ( the best tradition) with everyone. The summers at Cape Cod were unforgettable whether it was picnics at the beach or playing ball in the yard. I know Mom you are with Dad looking down on us. All our love.

Grammy Noble was the nicest woman you would ever meet and a wonderful grandmother. She will be missed by all. A few of my favorite memories: Her love of Heavenly Hash Ice Cream and how she used to say "It's out of this world and into the next!" How she could not get enough of the Friendly's 2,2,2 deal. She thought Friendly's was the best restaurant on earth (I love it myself!). How she used to respond with "MY WORD!" whenever she heard something did not agree with, always made me laugh. Lastly, whenever she would make me a sandwich she would cut it into 4 triangles. I swear it always tasted better that way. Cannot say enough good things about her. We will miss you gram, love you!

My thoughts are with Mrs. Noble and her kids and grandkids today. I have fond memories of her summer house, most especially the baby's breath in the garden, which I always associate with her. She raised a fine family, including my Aunt Maureen, who has been a very special person in my life - as have my cousins Julie, Bob, and John. Please know that I am thinking of you.

Mary was an extraordinary women and wonderful grandmother. She will be greatly missed. My fondest memories are of the times we spent together at the Pleasant Street house on Cape Cod. She loved having the whole family at the house. She was sustained by her family. Gram had her favorite chair on the porch. She could often be found there reading the Cape Cod Times. When she was done, I would cut out the Red Sox articles for my scrapbook. The Holidays were also very special. You could always count on several great gifts from Gram. Very practical gifts. She knew what you needed without even asking. You may even get a joke gift like a ballet slipper. I will never forget her quiet strength, profound decency, and genuine love. I know she is now with my grandfather. They are enjoying their favorite songs and movies. God Bless you Gram.
