Mass of Christian Burial
Obituary of Robert L. Iamonaco
Robert L. Iamonaco, 59, of Glastonbury passed away suddenly November 8, 2019. It's hard to find the words when something so tragic and unexpected happens; we find ourselves running through the "what-ifs" or becoming angry that the best was still yet to come. We could also choose to look at it a little differently; the best had come when he followed his dreams of becoming a lawyer, attending Providence College, UCONN for his MBA, and then Western New England for his JD. The best had already come when he met his one true love, Anita, while attending PC and who he absolutely adored. If she could tell Bobby one thing, it would be a quote from his favorite artist Neil Young: "Because I'm still in love with you, I want to see you dance again because I'm still in love with you, on this harvest moon."
Maybe the best had come with the addition of 4 children; MaryBeth, Laura (and husband Rob), Christopher, and Kathryn. Or maybe the best had already come when we welcomed his beautiful granddaughter, Ella Rose, whose middle name came from his own mom, Rose Mary Iamonaco, who predeceased Bobby in January 2000. His father, Costantino, of Florida, beamed with pride during their multiple phone calls per day and was very proud of the father and son Bobby turned into.
The best had most certainly come when we built our dream home in Jamestown, RI which became home base for a million memories in just a few short years.
The actual best, above all else, was anyone that had the privilege of knowing our Bobby. His heart was as big as the sky, and he worked tirelessly for his family. He had a big circle of friends whom he loved deeply and had been part of his most cherished moments.
It's really not the years of your life that count but the life in your years. Until we meet again, and because we didn't get to say it before you went to Heaven, thank you for the years and the life you gave us. They were the "best." A Mass of Christian Burial for Bobby will be held at St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd., Glastonbury at 11:00 am on Friday, November 15, 2019. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
