Chuck will always be missed in the neighborhood. He used to do drivebys and "patrol" before he got Bosco. Then he got a friend to help. Years earlier, when I had my dog, I might find Chuck sitting with my Mom when I came home from work; he had brought a bone. One time, I was be walking Blackie down the street and he was trying to run over to Chuck's. (I hadn't known my dog also received "biscuits"
from our friend.) I don't know of a person who would not have like Chuck's smile, chuckle or would not call him a friend. A good man.
God Bless. Maggie

I moved in next door to Chuck over 25 years ago. I bought my house from Chuck's late Uncle William who had lived in my house since it was new. Chuck's Mom and her sister, Peg and Anne, bought these 2 houses next door to each other in which they raised their families. Chuck and I were neighbors for 25 years and over those years have helped each other out as neighbors do. Chuck did snow removal for me from time to time (as Mike Gallo and others have too) and I so appreciate their helping me. I had a cat, Kitty, for over 13 years here. Chuck called her Kitter-Hawk and sometimes let her inside of his house so he could visit with her. Eventually he got Bosco, who was Chuck's constant companion and a very good boy. The past weeks have been so quiet, not hearing Bosco's seldom heard but BIG BARK. He is being well-cared for Chuck, there was never a doubt he would be, thanks to Bosco's Aunt Cheryl and her dear friends. In Chuck's honor, Mark and I planted the lettuce plants Chuck had purchased this year as the first of many veggies and flowers he would plant every year, all of which he would generously share with the neighborhood... This is the end of an era on our street Chuck. You were loved by many and are so missed.... Rest in Peace with your Parents and Brother, <3 Deb

I have known Chuckie his whole life. I remember his mom walking him around the block in the carriage. Chuck gave most of his friends in the neighborhood nicknames that stuck with them as they grew up. Growing up in the neighborhood we had go carts, mini bikes, played football and baseball in the street. These are the memories I will never forget. I moved back to my childhood house and Chuck and I continued to be good friends. When Chuck would go fishing, he would always bring my wife fish from the catch of the day, which she loved. Chuck had a big heart, always helping others and giving what he could to bring happiness. When he got Bosco, we walked our dogs together most every night. My dog Benny and Bosco were from the same breeder and became buddies. Chuck called Benny "Uncle Ben". On the last day he was home he was more worried about Bosco than himself. He loved that dog. My wife and I will miss him terrible. The neighborhood will never the same without him.
Love

Our first memory of Chuck was when we bought our house across from his family over 50 yrs ago. Just moving in and getting settled, the front door bell rang and there stood a seven year old darling little boy, holding Mom's hand and a plate of cup-cakes. Welcome to the neighborhood Chuck said. How was I to know all the yrs ahead, I was to experience the generosity of this man. Whether it was offering of himself to run a errand, give you a ride to the Dr. or even take your trash to the dump, he was always there to help. Many times his helping hand went unnoticed, only to find what he had done after you pulled into your driveway.
He loved fishing and his favorite friend his dog Bosco. Each year in the spring was the start of his vegetable garden. A lot of work and pride put into that garden. And you guessed it, the whole neighborhood reaped the rewards of that garden. Bosco and Chuck would walk the circle giving all he grew to each and every neighbor.
Our sincere condolences to his loving sister Cheryl. He will be missed.
Thank-u Chuck for the cup-cakes and every kind gesture that followed. May you RIP.
Love, Al & Janet Anderson

I was sorry to see that "Little Charlie" passed away. I know he has had some serious medical issues in recent years. He was a really good guy my son used to go fishing with. Always enjoyed talking with him when he was driving through Hollister Drive neighborhood in his truck with the dog. Sorry for your loss.
