Obituary of Marie Yvette Libera

Marie Yvette (Cote) Libera, 93, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in Rocky Hill, CT, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Yvette was born in Hartford, CT on June 3, 1927, the daughter of Albert and Marguerite (Beaudet) Cote. She married the love of her life, Henry Libera, on May 10, 1947. They built their first home together in Glastonbury, CT, where they raised their four children, John, Albert, Marguerite and Linda. She worked for many years at Flanagan Brothers in Glastonbury, CT and was a crossing guard at Hebron Avenue School where her children attended. In their later years they moved to Abbot Village, Maine where they built, owned and operated a country store on Piper Pond. They enjoyed the many visits of family, friends and neighbors. Yvette was always fun to be around and loved playing cards, going to yard sales, swimming in the pond or just sitting and visiting on the deck of their home on Piper Pond. She had a passion for braiding rugs and going to the casino. Yvette is survived by her sister, Marie Teresa Cote, her sons John and Albert and her daughter Linda Anderson and by her devoted son-in-law Michael Tomany. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, sister Marie Helen Call, brothers Raymond and Donald Cote and her daughter Marguerite Tomany. She very much enjoyed the company of her family including grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. We would like to extend our gratitude to the people at Hibbard Skilled Nursing Center in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, Apple Rehab in Rocky Hill, CT, and Beacon Hospice of East Hartford, CT. Yvette’s transition was peaceful due to their loving care and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Yvette will be honored with a joyful celebration of her life at a later date in 2021.
