Dear, Dear Uncle Al, Our hearts ache for you. We will all miss Aunt Helen, she was a quiet force and such a strong, spirited and kind woman. Your family meant everything to her and she had a beautiful life. I’m so sorry that she was taken by COVID just as she was starting her sunset years. We are so grateful that we were able to spend time with you both in Florida and see you at our store reunion, she seemed so content when we last saw her. Please know that you are all in our prayers and may she Rest In Peace, she is in God’s hands and our hearts always. Love & Blessings, Denise & Dennis

Dear Helen,
I miss you. All those years of sneaking down to your house to have pierogis and galumpkis - food that the Rentsch family had never heard of - so delicious! I also remember you letting Mary Lee and me know that we could NOT start a fire in the woods. You were kind yet firm. As Wendy described, you were the "enforcer" in the neighborhood at a time when we children all ran around free without thinking of our safety. You and Al were wonderful neighbors and I know my parents appreciated that you lived next door. You definitely embodied a good citizen of Glastonbury, my home town. I will always remember you. May you rest in peace.

My early years were spent on Buttonball Lane, two doors down from the DeGemmis's. Our families were life long friends. Helen was a force of nature growing up. She was kind and loving and encouraged us to play together - but she was also the "enforcer" in the neighborhood- making sure everyone played safe and played nice.
My brother David died at age 52 and Helen came to the funeral as he was "the sweetest boy in the neighborhood". It touched my heart and reminded me that we never forget - and that paying respects is always right. I was fortunate to spend some time with her and Al since I returned to CT 7 years ago. Their love and devotion to each other were obvious. Every visit was filled with joy and laughter. I am so sorry (and mad) that Covid took Helen from us, but at the same time I feel blessed that I knew her. My love to the family. wendy

Hi Al: So sorry for your loss, wow 68 years of marriage, she must have been a very patient woman. It's been a very long since our paths have crossed, I don't recall when you left PaineWebber, probably around 25 years ago, a few of us are still here, I've been here almost forty and Jim Fasi forty-five, some people aren't meant to keep working. I hope your still playing golf and close to breaking your age, that's my goal some day. My sympathy to both you and your family. Sincerely, Chuck
