The news of Ellen's passing was expected but was also surreal to me. How could this vivacious, energetic and caring woman have left this earth? Ellen also did substitute teaching in East Hampton, CT. She even subbed for me and pushed my music cart around Memorial Elementary school. God bless her for this! Ellen and I loved to shop at Eddie Bauer's and we were often found wearing the same sweater on the same day. It got to be a joke between us and we would always ask each other, "What are you wearing?" My husband would drop off my substitute lesson plans to Ellen when I was sick. She would make sure they got to Memorial or Center School depending on the day. Ellen was loving, dependable, loyal and reliable. She was an excellent teacher and had a wonderful sense of humor that I enjoyed so much. She even gave me one of our favorite cartoons from the newspaper when I retired. I am praying for Ellen and all those who are experiencing pain and loss because she is no longer here for us. I know it is difficult to lose someone during COVID. Please know that my heart and my prayers are with you all. I am so sorry I cannot be with you to say goodbye to Ellen Webster.
