Obituary of Anita Elvenia Keefe
Anita Elvenia Keefe died peacefully under hospice care at Backus Hospital on September 23. Anita was born at Windham Hospital on April 27, 1958, daughter of the late Edward and Ann Keefe. She was a resident of Hebron her entire life.
Anita grew up on the family dairy farm across the street from her current home. She was a graduate of RHAM High School and worked for AEtna for several years until her father took ill. Family always came first and Anita cared for her father until his death. The dairy farm was sold and Anita lived the rest of her life in the house right across the street from the old farm.
On June 4th, 1990 Anita and Rick Hellstrom welcomed Heather Claire Hellstrom, her only child and the love of her life. Rick died unexpectedly when Heather was only seven. From Heather's birth until she was on her own, Anita would over decorate inside and out and the house was the scene of numerous parties, holidays, bonfires and sleepovers. Families knew that if their children were at Anita's, they would be safe.
Anita leaves her loving daughter and light of her life Heather Hellstrom Fitting, husband Eric, and grandson Ryan. She leaves brothers Kenny of Hebron and Edward of Lebanon. She also leaves her loving partner of twenty three years Kent Jahne, and her close friend Jody Poulin. She also leaves her beloved Rottweiler Duke who would always "protect Mommy". She leaves the extended Hellstrom, Fitting, and Weir Families.
Anita loved her flower gardens and always was first to get them in the ground in the spring, and onto her lawn tractor. Anita never asked for anything for herself, but did what she could for family and others. Anita was a caring, beautiful woman who will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
At her request, there are no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Her family has entrusted the Mulryan Funeral Home with final arrangements.
