With the heaviest heart my condolences to Chip, Nick, Nora, family & friends. Anyone who was lucky enough to be in Ann’s life no matter how long or brief knows what a tremendous loss this is. I was lucky enough to have been Ann’s hairdresser and friend for years. Lovely, sweet, smart funny Ann will be so missed

Ann was the most passionate advocate for social justice, particularly for women’s rights, that I will ever know. From the day we met at college, her dedication to making the world a better, fairer place was obvious and so impressive. I remember how she juggled schoolwork with the craziness of working for Bill Curry at the CT legislature, finding her calling to make good public policy happen. Given our shared Irish Catholic girlhood, it was a bold move for her to take a job with NARAL, but totally in keeping with Ann’s fearless integrity.
Over the years, we celebrated the arrival of children and mourned the losses of parents. I had imagined us as having tea one of these days, celebrating the OTC birth control pill and reminiscing about college and life in DC. It’s hard to imagine this vibrant, kind woman getting overwhelmed so quickly by a sneaky disease. My heart aches for Chip, Nora, and Nick, and all of us who knew her.

Chip, Norah, and Nick. We are devastated to learn of this loss. Ann was a mentor to me, last providing sage counsel during covid. You were all her greatest joy. I'm so sorry to be away this week. You're in our thoughts.

In my memories of Ann, it's her bright blue eyes I see first, and the way they sparkled whenever something delighted her. Like the time she showed up to one of our virtual meetings wearing not her usual professional blouse but a "F**k Trump" t-shirt her children had gifted her. (Oh, she was SO pleased to have that shirt!) Or when she shared news of a trip she was planning to Spain to visit her niece, or the details of her latest family get-together. Ann could be fierce, if not downright formidable, especially when fighting for the causes she believed in. But what I'll remember about her most was her capacity for joy.

I met Ann only a few years ago and knew immediately that I was in the orbit of someone very special. She worked tirelessly to promote our work on the OTC pill and her trademark passion and professionalism was a pleasure to behold. Yet, as I reflect on her passing, the thing about Ann that I will miss the most is her humanity. In that department, for me, she was truly exceptional. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Ann was a tremendous mentor and advisor to me during my time as the CEO of Rhia Ventures. She laid out the pathway for our fundraising effort, and basically taught me -- and our organization -- what it takes to raise capital to support women's health. She was wise, she was direct, and she showed me what it meant to have a high standard in the space. I will forever be grateful for her partnership and will remember her always.
