Obituary of James D. Starr, Jr.

James D. Starr, Jr. of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Cheryl (Visser) Starr, passed away peacefully August 27, 2022, at home surrounded by his wife and children after a courageous battle with vascular dementia.  Born on August 3, 1940 in New Rochelle, NY to James and Edith Starr. Jim was a graduate of Glastonbury High School, attended UCONN and then served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965.  He retired after 35 years of service at Devcon Enterprises.  Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl, of 60 years, his daughters Jana Gadarowski and Lisa Starr Werkheiser (Paul) of Glastonbury, his much loved grandchildren Ashley Gadarowski, Taylor (Devin) Ethier of Glastonbury, Kyle Crossky, U.S. Army, stationed in Poland, Kayleigh & Kenna Starr and Emma Werkheisser of Glastonbury. Jim was predeceased by his son, Kenneth.   Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  Memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
