I would like to add a bit of humor for all of you who knew Don
Don and several others had a series of meetings one day in Washington DC; the meetings were with the research arms of DOD.
They took a lunch break and decided to reconvene after lunch.Nearby was a Legal Seafoods restaurant and apparently Don loved fried clams; however he also had some sort of seafood allergy. Needless to say Don missed the afternoon meetings; I think you can guess why,

I knew Don both as a coworker at UTC as well as a friend
He was one of the most brilliant scientists I knew as well as a humble soul; never getting credit for all of his many patents as well as the many scientific breakthroughs. Plus he was always a gentleman. We shared many stories about our children and sometimes crazy relatives
My daughter Lynne and Tim Maricle both swam together for the town of Glastonbury rec team and I
finally realized Tim was grown up when Don told me that he had only a short call to Tim since Tim had to coordinate some drone strikes in Iraq.
And please don’t forget how fashionable Don was in his llbean clothes; earring the nickname Dandy Don
Rip old friend; see you soon
As Don once said “I worry when you tell me not to worry”
