Obituary of Barbara C. Abraham

Barbara Couch Abraham, aged 94, passed away peacefully at home in Narragansett on July 29, 2023. Surrounded by her children, her life ended as she lived it, with great dignity and grace. Born on August 1, 1928, in Hartford Connecticut to Mary and Henry Couch. Barbara is predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-eight years, John Abraham, and her brother Arthur. She is survived by her sister Marie; her son Rick (Heni), daughters Betsy (Paul), Sarah, Jenifer (Alan) and her devoted grandchildren, Ian (Alison), Alina (Ko), Jena (Shane), Geoff (Morgan), Ted (Erica), Alex (Amy), Zoe, Ethan, Adam, Drew, Sally and Aliza, eight great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was a long-standing communicant of Saint James Episcopal Church in Glastonbury. She went to Wethersfield High School and graduated from La Salle University. Barbara was a long-standing member and Chaplin of the Ruth Wyllys Hartford Chapter of the DAR and Council member of the Founders of Hartford.

Throughout Barbara's life she provided unwavering support and encouragement for her family. Barbara had a great love of nature and all the wonders of it, architecture, travel, sailing and all the special little details in life. Thus, she passed that love on to her children.
