Obituary of Annie Cesana
On January 10, 2024 our beloved Annie Cesana entered into eternal peace after a century of devoted life on this earth. Born Anna Agnes Gutt on March 11, 1924 to Anthony and Agnes (Rus), Annie grew up on the Gutt Farm with her five sisters and brothers; Rose, Frances, Edward, Kashmir, and John.
She attended Glastonbury High School and graduated in 1942, often sharing stories of her early school days. She was thrilled to celebrate her 75th high school reunion. A resident of Glastonbury for most of her life, Annie loved her community and raised her family here. She and husband Edmund spent many a day on the front steps of their Cape as they enjoyed the bustle of their growing community.
Annie was employed by Pratt & Whitney and formed special friendships there that would last a lifetime. Annie loved to cook and bake for her family. Her coleslaw, jello salad and chocolate chip cookies were favorites at family dinners. She was fond of knitting and crocheting, and many of her creations adorn the homes of those she loved. Annie loved to play cards and to take day trips to visit family.
Annie was predeceased by husband Edmund Cesana and her dear daughter Sandra Ann Oborski. She leaves behind 2 sons, Edmund and Ronald Cesana; son-in-law, Jerry Oborski; a very special niece, Beverly Wengzn; 9 grandchildren, Lisa Gorman and husband Matthew, Lori Purcaro and husband Michael, Justin Oborski and wife Christine, Sherry Cesana, David Cesana, Andrew Cesana, Katie Cesana and husband Tim, Robert Cesana and wife Kate, Sarah Jensen and husband Eric; and 16 great-grandchildren, Kelly, Allison, Emily, Caroline, Laci, Cheyenne, Anthony, Grace, Willow, Ryder, Stella, Matthew, Dominic, Camden, Ryan, and Lisa.
Annie will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Glastonbury after a Celebration of Life on March 11, 2024. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hartford Hospital for providing her with care and comfort in her final days. Annie leaves a legacy of love and kindness. Growing up during the Great Depression, Annie knew the value of hard work and enjoyed a simple life. It is the wish of her family that we all honor her by remembering the value of the simple things in life. For online condolences, please visit www.mulryanfh.com.
