I met Bob in the mid-90's when our respective companies loaned us to The United Way for their annual campaign. We all worked hard but also had a lot of fun as well and Bob was a big part of the fun! We were assigned certain sectors; ours being retail and manufacturing. One of my accounts was a brake manufacturer who had shift work. Being the righteousness and chivalrous man that he was, Bob refused to let me go by myself for the second shift presentation: in addition to being my "body guard" he also insisted on carrying in all my supplies. Bob loved his Yola and family more than anything in life. In spite of spending only a few months in Bob's company he left a lasting impression and any time I think of him it brings me a smile. My deepest condolences to Yola and his children and grandchildren. I am certain that when you remember him it will be with gratefulness and joy and I believe your memories will bring you peace through the years.

My condolences to Yola, Lea and Bryan and the rest of his loving family. If you knew Bob, you knew he was generous and genuine. He was also humorous and humble, but gregarious when called for. He was my boss and my mentor, but most importantly, my friend. The stories and life lessons he shared with me over many lunches in Wethersfield will stay with me forever. RIP Bob

My deepest sympathy to Bob’s family. We will all miss him. He was such a part of my entire family’s walks down GLPs Beach Rd to the beach or the Casino. His friendly comments and observations over the years. The cigar smoke that always reminded me of my dad.

Growing up you and Richie were my older cousins who I thought walked on the wild side.
I was like the little country cousin in awe of you two.
Rest in peace.

I met bobby 60 yers ago. He was in my life for a short time, but was in my heart forever. He was my nephew by marriage, but my friend in my heart. He was so sweet, so kind, so thoughtful. Life changes and I never saw him until my daughter’s funeral. He was her God Father. Fifty years had passed, he stood there looking at me, I didn’t recognize him and Then he said “ you will always be my aunt Shirley to me”. He will never know what that meant to me. Sadly he left before I could talk to him. He made me smile and remember why I always loved him. I am saddened for his family and the pain that his loss will bring but he will always be around his family . Until I see you again Bobby take take of Debbie and Jr. love, Aunt Shirley

I just learned of Bob’s passing and am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Bob for many years (decades) at UPS and I feel like we grew up together. It’s hard to be a stand out from all the other great people we worked with, especially in the early years but most definitely Bob was one of the good guys. ALWAYS had a smile, always checked in to see how things were going and always talked about his family…especially Yola. He was so proud of her and her accomplishments. My heart goes out to Bob’s family and friends because some people just can’t be replaced and I know he will be missed. Rest in Peace Partner.

Most of my memories of Bob are around the holidays. Bob was warm, generous, and very funny. He always had a good story to make me laugh. I will miss the good humor and interesting conversations. My deepest condolences to Yola, Lea, Bryan, Sheila, Jonathan and all of Bob's family and friends whom I know will miss his larger than life spirit.

I originally knew Bob when I was a college kid working my way through school at UPS. Bob was the Director of Security and we quickly became friends. Years later, we were lucky enough to have him as our next-door neighbor in South Glastonbury. His wife Yola was our realtor when we first got married, and again when we sold our home in South Glastonbury. Bob would give you the shirt off his back. To convey the type of person he was, I need to tell this story about Bob: When I was traveling for business, we had a fugitive on the loose in our neighborhood. He actually came out of the woods between our two houses and was later apprehended. With State Police helicopters hovering over our neighborhood, Bob was kind enough (and brave enough) to stop my wife Diane from entering the house when she arrived home from work. Bob actually went into our house and "cleared" it, checking every room and every closet for the potential intruder. We will never forget his kindness and bravery! Bob was one of the good guys and we are blessed to have known him. We will see him again...for now, he will be smoking his cigars from the best vantage point possible...heaven! May God Bless you my friend!
