Dr. Patricia Jantzen Abo, 70, of Glastonbury, loving wife of Richard Abo, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 18, 2024 with family by her side. Pat was born and raised on Long Island, NY, daughter of the late Henry and Jean Jantzen. Her life’s work was caring for animals as a veterinarian, which she did for 37 years. She practiced at Bolton Veterinary Hospital, Glastonbury Animal Hospital, and finally for 30 years at Tolland Veterinary Hospital where she was co-owner and provided loving care to countless animals. She was a loving partner of 48 years, married for 45, to her husband Richard. She is survived by her husband, her three children and their partners, Megan & Shaun, Kristy & Pavel, and Eric & Ale, her longtime friend Cathy Tuppo, and many extended family members including her beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Jantzen, and her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 23 at 11am in St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Road, Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 22 from 5pm to 7pm at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to Beat Parkinson’s Today (beatpdtoday.com), which provided Pat with hope and community for years between her diagnosis and her passing, or to the Tolland Veterinary Hospital fund for charitable animal care, which Pat started with her business partner, Dr. Laura Roy.
