Obituary of Jerome "Jerry" J. Sullivan
Jerome “Jerry” J. Sullivan, 92, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024. Born in Milwaukee, WI on December 18, 1931, he was the son of the late John L. and Eleanor Koegel Sullivan. Jerry was a graduate of Hartford Public High School and Central Connecticut State University. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for General Electric Co. in Plainville until 1970 when he founded J. J. Sullivan Contracting Co which he turned over to his son in 1983. At that time, he purchased W. A. Crosscup, a commercial painting and wall-covering company.
He leaves his wife, Jane Kenney Sullivan, daughter Emily Poulton and her husband Raymond, son Paul J. Sullivan and his wife Katherine, daughter Susanne M. Young and her husband Martin; grandchildren Ian Poulton and his wife Elizabeth, Amy Poulton, Meghan Sullivan Mendes and her husband John, Erin Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan, Olivia Young, Julia Young; great grandchildren Henry Poulton, Eleanor Poulton and Charlotte Mendes; three nieces and a nephew. Jerry was predeceased by his brothers John L. Sullivan, Jr. and his wife Rosa, Thomas J. Sullivan and his wife Judith, James P. Sullivan, and one nephew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 26, 10:00 am, at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
