Obituary of Marguerite P. Fatsi

Marguerite P. Fatsi of Glastonbury, Connecticut, beloved wife of the late Thomas Fatsi, died peacefully in her sleep on August 15, 2024. She was 96 years old. Known affectionately as “McGee” since childhood, she was born in 1928 in Putnam, Connecticut to Dr. Antonio Parent and Leona (Daigle) Parent . She was a wartime graduate of Putnam Catholic Academy, and married Thomas Fatsi , a WWII veteran, in 1950. She was his sweetheart and wife for 66 years until his death in 2016. They lived in northeastern Connecticut, primarily in Thompson, until 1992 when they moved to Glastonbury to be closer to family. McGee had several jobs throughout her life but, above all, she was a wife and mother. She was fun-loving, generous, and young at heart with strong family ties and friendships. A prodigious reader, she always said that one could never be alone if a book was nearby. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Martinez and her husband, Michael Fromson, also of Connecticut; her son Tom Fatsi of Brooklyn, New York; her son Tim Fatsi and his wife, Michelle Fatsi of Acton, Massachusetts; grandchildren Evan Martinez; Andrea Martinez Frey and her husband Kelly Frey; Dan Fromson; Zach Fromson; and two beautiful great grandchildren, Sadie and Deacon Frey. In addition to her husband, Tom, she was predeceased by her son, Jon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Ss. Isidore and Maria Parish in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Road, South Glastonbury, at 11am on Monday, August 26, 2024. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private at a later date. The family thanks the staff at Jefferson House in Newington, CT and the hospice providers at Hartford Healthcare, and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice, 1290 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 4B, Wethersfield, CT 06109.
