Obituary of Bruce L. Lester

Bruce Lawrence Lester, a lifelong resident of Glastonbury, Connecticut, passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on April 5, 1944, in Colchester, Connecticut, to James and Ruth Lester.

Bruce was predeceased by his parents; his brother, James Jr.; and his son-in-law, Adam Jacobs. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Nadine (Rockwell) Lester, whom he married on September 11, 1965. Together they built a loving family that includes their children: Christine Jacobs, Daniel Lester, and Kelly Lester (Erik Perotti), as well as their cherished grandchildren, Seth and Liam Jacobs.

Bruce dedicated five decades of his career to Quality Name Plate before retiring and pursuing his passion for gardening. He became a certified Master Gardener through UConn and shared his knowledge as a docent for the Glastonbury Historical Society. An avid outdoorsman, Bruce found joy in hunting, fishing, gardening, and birding. He also had a deep love for cooking and delighted in preparing meals for family gatherings, friends, and local fundraisers. His grandson affectionately dubbed him the "unpaid Chef," a title he wore with pride.
