Obituary of Evelyn McAloon

Evelyn Irene (Melley) McAloon, 81, of Glastonbury, formerly of Easton, CT, died Monday December 5, 2011 at Hartford Hospital. Born June 4, 1930 in Scranton, PA., daughter of the late William J. and Margaret (Fern) Melley, she had lived in Easton for 15 years moving to Glastonbury 7 years ago. She was a member of Notre Dame Church in Easton and St. Augustine Church in South Glastonbury. Evelyn is survived by her four children and their spouses; Patrick and Betsy McAloon of Milford, Kathleen and Robert Davidson of Easton, Colleen and Barry Morris of Glastonbury, Erin and John Troy of Milford, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Francis V. McAloon, Retired Senior Chief Petty Officer, her daughter Maureen Ferreira, a brother James Melley and 3 sisters Dorothy Shumbres, Ann Cimino and Grace Emmett. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday Dec. 9 at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, South Glastonbury.
