Obituary of Sally Young

Sally (Canny) Young, 85, of Glastonbury, wife of the late John G. Young, died Sunday (Oct. 24, 2010) at home. Born March 15, 1925 in Hartford, daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Conroy) Canny, she had lived in Glastonbury for the past 50 years. Prior to her retirement she had worked for May Potter and Murphy Insurance and the Robert Watson Insurance Co. Sally enjoyed playing setback every week at the Irish American Home in Glastonbury. She is survived by two nieces and a nephew and their families; Brigid Nessing of Manchester, Mary-Kate Russell of Hollywood, FL, and Michael Decsi of Colchester, two step sons David Young of Colorado and Edwin Young of NC and his family Lori Granger, Donald Young, Glenn Young all of Vernon and Robin Ennist of Shelton and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister Ellen Decsi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday Oct. 29 at 10am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. There are no calling hours.
