Obituary of Martha Dresser Geer
Martha Marie (Schweitzer) Dresser Geer, 91, of Glastonbury, wife for 19 years to the late Raleigh A. Dresser and 39 years to the late Harold A. Geer, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at Hartford Hospital. Born October 21, 1920 in Lebanon, CT, daughter of the late Albert and Martha (Hase) Schweitzer, she had lived in Glastonbury for 20 years. She retired from the State of Connecticut, Inheritance Division and was a member of the Sphinx Ladies Club, the Nile, the L.A.M.P., the East Hartford Pratt & Whitney Retirees Club and the Universalist Church in West Hartford. Martha is survived by her children: Stephen and Marcia Dresser, Marty D. and Drew Wagner, Clare and Lance Mazur, Wilfred H. Dresser, II and Annie Krueger. Grandchildren: Clare J. Mazur, Clinton Mazur, Sarah Dresser and Jay Estell, Raleigh A. Dresser. Great grandchildren: Eryanna Estell, Austin Estell, Kane Mazur. She also leaves Harold's children; Gordon and Shirley Geer, Sandra and Edgar Butcher, and Barbara and James Montstream. Grandchildren: Brendon and Kendra Montrstream, Pam and Peter Archangeli, Gregory and Brenda Geer, Deborah Geer, Susan and Jamie Vedaa, Tammy and James Bourque, Tracy and Bruce Craven. Great grandchildren: Reese and Sawyer Montstream, Noel Archangeli, Nicole, Zachary and Wesley Geer, Madelyn and Parker Vedaa, Kristin, Erika, and Melissa Bourque, Nick and Tyler Craven. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Helen Schweitzer and was predeceased by sisters Elsie Schweitzer, Olga Munson and and a brother, Adolph Schweitzer. A memorial service will be celebrated: Wednesday, January 25, 10:30am, Universalist Church, 433 Fern St., West Hartford. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104-2396 or the Universalist Church, 433 Fern St., West Hartford, CT 06107.
