Obituary of Joseph Bisi

Joseph M. Bisi "Joe", 89, of Glastonbury, beloved husband for 61 years to Ann (Fierravanti) Bisi, died Wednesday Dec. 15, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born February 5, 1921 in Hartford, son of the late Marco and Louise (Toscani) Bisi he was a lifelong resident of Glastonbury. Joe was a brick mason by trade and had been an auxiliary policeman and the Dog Warden in Glastonbury. He had worked with the maintenance department for the Glastonbury Board of Education for 44 years retiring in 1997. Joe was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Rev. John A. Fleming Council # 2533. He was an avid gardener and reader, loved the outdoors and enjoyed and loved his family. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons and their wives; Michael and Julie Bisi of Wethersfield, Anthony and Robin Bisi of South Glastonbury, a sister Josephine Soucy of Worcester, MA. , his grandchildren Gregg and Shelby Bisi, Chris Bisi and Stephanie Finn, a great grandson Aidan Bisi and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 brothers Theodore, Peter, John and Louis and a sister Rose Larder. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday Dec. 18 at 11:30am in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury (everyone please meet directly at church). Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Friday Dec. 17 from 5-8pm.
