My son graduated high school with Kyle and I am so sorry that you and the world lost a wonderful young man. I remember his warm, friendly personality and competence. I often remember with great fondness a time I was attending a program at Smith School when the kids were in 7th/8th grade and having Kyle yell down to me from the soundbooth "Hey Doug's Mom!". Since I usually went to the programs alone, I appreciated the acknowledgement. His energy and playfulness were infectious and the world is a sadder place for his passing.

I started to know Kyle when he was hired as an engineer at FOX CT to cover the new Weekend AM News about 2 months ago. It was nice to have some company, since I worked the Weekend Overnights in Master Control, and were alone most of the nights. Kyle was a nice person to talk to but also helped with any problems I had. I started to talk to Kyle and learned more about him as a volunteer firefighter for town of Glastonbury. There were certain times, I remember, he was exhausted since he just came back from a call and then came to work. He seemed to love serving his community.
I remember, about 2 weeks ago, in which Kyle was working the evening newscast, that he was tuning live shots for the newscasts. I was doing my normal work and then all of sudden I heard an excitement coming from Kyle. I asked him: "What was that all about?" and he told me, with happy expression, of how surprisingly he quickly tune in 2 live shot. He told me all the details, but what I remember most, is he was metaphorically giving himself a pat on the back.
He was always cheerful and always found ways to fix certain equipment, whenever he had the time. He told me about his degree he just finished at Univ. of Hartford and how different it was since it was not a normal degree. He told me he customized it as Communication Engineer and told each part of it and he seemed to love it because I always saw a smile on his face when he told me.
He told me recently just before he passed away of how he was going to get a TV Engineer certificate since he was well qualified and knew all the answers to the test he was going to take. He seemed to move quickly in his job from starting as a freelancer to part time engineer and recently getting promotion to full time. I remember I just recently congratulated him on it. From what I saw, he seemed to be the perfect candidate since he moved up pretty quickly. I remember seeing him during his training days and ask many questions to all of sudden becoming a team player and great problem solver.
I will miss Kyle since I was just becoming friends with him. He was a great coworker and loved everything he did. He will be missed! Especially here at FOX CT!

Over the last 3 or 4 years I've gotten to know Kyle as the station would hire him to help out with special productions. Kyle was generally hired for these shows by someone else at the station. On the day of production when I'd pull on the site I'd spot Kyle diligently working or investigating some element of the show and a sense of calm would come over knowing we were in best of hands as Kyle was on the job.
At the beginning of this year we needed a part time engineer to cover weekend morning show, Kyle applied for the position, I quickly made decision to hire Kyle. He jumped in with both feet not only covering the morning shift in a superior way he also started to take on projects that the rest of us never seemed to be able to address.
A full time position became available a short time later, Kyle applied and was the obvious choice for this position.
He was an asset to our department and an asset to the station that is sorely missed. Along with his exceptional work ethic came his pleasant personality. He made a point of finding the good in everyone and everything surrounding him, that is a rare quality.
