Obituary of Edgar Shoup
Edgar C. Shoup, 92, of South Glastonbury, beloved husband of Irene (Park) Shoup, died Tuesday April 5, 2011 at Hartford Hospital. Born March 16, 1919 in Albany, NY, he had lived in Glastonbury for the past 58 years. Prior to his retirement in 1977 he was a Mechanical Engineer for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 32 years. Mr. Shoup graduated from New Hartford High School in New Hartford, NY and Clarkson University in New York. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational. He enjoyed the activities and playing setback at the Glastonbury Community Center and he and his wife enjoyed Ballroom Dancing for many years. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Janice and Ron Beller of Parker, CO, Bonnie and Roger Olson of South Glastonbury, five grandchildren and their spouses David and Laura Beller, James and Eloisa Beller, Stephen and Marisa Beller, Heather and Dan Berti, Heidi Olson and seven great grandchildren . A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday April 16 at 10am in the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 2183 Main St., Glastonbury with the Rev. David Taylor officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund, First Church of Christ, Congregational, 2183 Main St., Glastonbury, CT. 06033. The Mulryan Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
