Obituary of David Cox
David Brewer Cox of South Glastonbury died suddenly on July 10, 2011.
Dave was born in Manchester, son of Edmund Van Dyke Cox and the late Barbara Brewer Cox and was a lifelong resident of Glastonbury. He also enjoyed spending time at his family's home on the Caribbean Island of Nevis. Dave was a proud graduate of Glastonbury High School and Rhode Island School of Design. Cox Architects, Inc. located on Main Street, is a second generation firm, formerly Edmund Van Dyke Cox Architects. Dave worked tirelessly for many organizations including the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce, Glastonbury Rotary Club, Town Center Initiative, Glastonbury Historical Society and several town commissions. Dave was honored as the Chamber's Business Person of the Year in 2002. Besides his father, Dave leaves his beloved wife Emma, his three sons Asa, Sasha and Tyas who reside in Glastonbury and a daughter Alexandra. Besides his mother he was predeceased by his sister Debbie Cox Stewart. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held in the near future and will be announced.
