Obituary of George E. Connell

George E. Connell , 85 of Glastonbury, CT former resident of North Fort Myers, FL and Vernon, CT passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2015 following a long, courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Providence, RI to the late Lionel Russell Connell and Irene Watt Connell. He was married for 61 years to the “love of his life” Lois Carpenter Connell. George proudly served in the US Coast Guard from 1949-1953, and was a long-time member of the Masonic Order. After a long career in the insurance industry, George retired from Dorchester Mutual Insurance Company and found a love for the game of golf. He and Lois enjoyed many years living in Florida with special memories, connecting with family, old friends, as well as developing many new friendships along the way. Besides his wife, George leaves a sister, Bernice Hughes of Lincoln, RI, and was predeceased by this brother Lionel Russell Connell. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by this three daughters, Abigail DeLisa and her husband Michael of Westbrook, Ct; Kathy Michaud and her husband Jim of Glastonbury, CT; and Sarah Raczynski and her husband Brian of Fort Mill, SC.; and his four grandchildren Andrew DeLisa, Matthew Michaud, and Griffin and Peri Raczynski. There will be a private memorial and burial for the family.
