Obituary of Joseph W. Clemens
Joseph Watson Clemens Sr., 83, of South Glastonbury, beloved husband of Lottie (Rand) Clemens, died Monday January 18, 2016 at Glastonbury Health Care. Born on March 11, 1932 to the late Joseph Lewis and Bertha Idella (Daniels) Clemens in South Glastonbury, he was a lifelong resident. Besides his wife Joe is survived by his children, Joseph W. Clemens Jr., and his wife Karen of Marlborough, Lori Davis and her husband Filmore of Glastonbury, Robin Zimmerman and her husband Marc of Newington, his grandchildren Amanda, Courtny, Alicia, Joseph, Brenda, Jeffrey, Brian, Lily, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin sister Beverly Cowles, his sister Alma Martin and his brother Christopher Clemens. Joe was an avid fisherman, he would spend many mornings on Tryon St fishing for Pike in the Connecticut River. He and his brother Chris spent most weekends out on the ocean fishing. Joe enjoyed spending time with his wife of 59 years and his family at summer picnics and celebrating birthdays and holidays. He was an Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11a.m. in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Old Church Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call, Friday, prior to the service starting at 9:30a.m.at the funeral home.
