Obituary of G. Nicholas Pahoulis
G. Nicholas Pahoulis passed away at home in Glastonbury, Connecticut on Friday, April 1, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Ada Pahoulis of Glastonbury, daughter, Meredith Pahoulis of New York City, sisters, Constance Jannot of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Christine Nordberg of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was the son of the late Lucille Davenport Pahoulis and Gust Pahoulis. Nicholas was born and raised in Meadville, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Rochester Business Institute in Rochester, NY and Tri-State College in Indiana, and served in the U.S. Army Intelligence after college in Connecticut. He was the Chief Financial Officer of the Catholic Cemeteries Association of the Archdiocese of Hartford, Connecticut for many years. Nicholas was a passionate and talented golfer his entire life. A long time Tallwood Country Club and Connecticut Golf Association (CSGA) member, he was awarded a CSGA Distinguished Service Award in 2013 in appreciation for his years of outstanding service. Known to all for his gregarious, charismatic, kind demeanor and great sense of humor, Nicholas was dedicated to the CSGA and to junior golf in Connecticut. In 2013, Nicholas was inducted into the Connecticut State Golf Hall of Fame. Nicholas began volunteering for the association in 1999 and served as a Regional Vice President from 2002 until 2006 when he joined the Executive Committee. As a CSGA Vice President, Nick chaired the Competitions Committee through 2012 and was a co-chair of the Junior Golf Committee. As chair he led the junior team to a winning record that includes four out of six titles between 2007 and 2012. The wake will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue Glastonbury, CT 06033. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 5 at 11:00 am at Mulryan Funeral Home (www.mulryanfh.com), followed by burial with military honors at Holy Cross Cemetery in Glastonbury.
