The Christmas of 1999 will always be remembered because it was -10 degrees outside ,but in Carol's house that day , it was very warm and comforting.
That day will also be vivid in my memories, because that was the last Christmas that I shared with my wife, Sandy, in Connecticut.

Carol, You've been there for so many people,
even when they were a LOT bull-headed,
But you did it out of Love.
Now you have All the Angels to give you the LOVE you so rightly deserve. R.I.P.

To the family of Carol Campbell Forand--
My sincere condolences to you. Your Mom and I worked at HH years ago and we lived next door to each other while establishing our careers. Your Mom and I traveled together--up to Rockport, Mass as well as a memorable trip to Scotland where we visited her relatives. I will always remember walking home from a party in Glasgow, singing at the top of our lungs!
Your Mom was always full of fun and I will always remember her fondly. May she rest in peace.

It was such a blessing, honor and pleasure to get to work with Carol. Her passion for the children and the people she worked with was inspiring and contagious. Carol always had words of advice/wisdom to offer and suggestions for how to make our system a place where people feel valued. I want to express my sincere condolences and thank you, her loved ones, for sharing her with us for so many years!

I had the distinct pleasure of knowing Carol through Hartford Public Schools Central Office. I came to know that she truly cared about our students and would do anything to help and support them. I also learned that she absolutely loved golf. She gave me constant tips for my husband. He enjoyed getting the pointers. She always made me smile with her wit and vigor. My deepest condolences to her family for her precious being. Please know that God has called one of his children home and that he will take care.
In thought and prayer,
Delores

I only learned last month of Carol;s illness and was saddened to hear she was not well. I was even more saddened to hear the news of her recent death. She was an amazing human being who was sincere, honest, passionate, and committed to all she did. I met her when she became the 504 coordinator and liked her immediately. She was not afraid to use policy and procedures as a means to help students get what they needed to succeed. She was a true advocate and supported each student's right to an education. Whenever she was in our building for a meeting she would make an effort to sway hello and we would inevitably have a conversation filled with her passion and humor. I have missed her these many months but with the hope she would rerun. I am will miss her tremendously but hear her voice int the hallway and know her presence will be felt for many years to come by the students for whom she so cared. May God Bless her and Keep Her.
My condolences to the family who suffer the loss of your mother, sister, grandmother, aunt. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief that you suffer. May God Bless you all.

As a school counselor in Hartford, I had the privilege of working with and learning from Carol at our many 504 meetings. She always cut to the chase and really had a knack of creating strong partnerships between home and school, with the student reaping the benefits. I will miss her stories and laughter. Hit 'em straight down the middle Carol!!

As an attorney working with Hartford families, I had the pleasure of working with Carol during her tenure with the Hartford Public Schools. Carol had a lovely manner with families and students. She genuinely cared for each of them and truly listened to their concerns. When needed, she treated them with a respectful, motherly tough love. I will certainly miss her, as will the families whose lives she touched.

I had the great pleasure to work with Carol at Hartford Hospital and through her work for the Hartford School system. She was an intelligent and amazing advocate for children, and worked tirelessly to obtain the best medical care and services for them. Her practicality, ability to read and understand people, and sense of humor made the most difficult situation easier. The world is a lesser place without her.

God has called Carol home. As a child of God, she dedicated her life to caring for others, and built a life of love raising 3 daughters who continue her legacy of caring and service to those who need the most. Her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren. May they take comfort in knowing that she has attained her eternal goal: living on in spirit and bliss with her creator, and God. This I believe.

Carol balanced the fine line of being a loyal employee of the Hartford Public School system while advocating for children. She always tipped the scale in favor of the child and family. I admired the strength of her character and enjoyed her as a character. She was a delightful person.
She left her mark on many and her influence will have a rippling effect. I was blessed to be a part of her life.
Celebrate her life!!
