Obituary of Charles Greenwald
Charles Craig "Chuck" Greenwald, 73, of Glastonbury, CT died Sunday night at Middlesex County Hospital with his family at his side. Chuck was born to Edwin and Theresa Greenwald and spent most of his boyhood in Henderson, KY. After proudly earning his Eagle Scout, Chuck went on to play football for and graduate from the University of Nebraska. He then spent six years in the Marine Corps where he met his wife of 48 years, Rose, while stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He attended George Washington University where he earned his Master's degree before being accepted to the University of Connecticut School of Law where he graduated in 1969. Chuck was a 40 year resident of Glastonbury where he opened his own law practice and was an active member of the community. He served on the Glastonbury Town Planning & Zoning Commission, the Board of Education, and was recently recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his years of hard work and commitment to the charitable organization UNICO. Chuck leaves behind his wife Rose and three children, Stephanie and her husband Don Costello and their two sons Benjamin and Robert; Terri and her husband Todd Alboum and their three sons Steven, Jeffrey and Gregory; and Charles Jr. and his wife Antonia and their daughter Cecilia and son Charles III. He is also survived by his brother Edwin Frank of Mobile, AL. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 10 at 10am in St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd., Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Wednesday May 9, from 5-8pm.
