Obituary of Albert Wolcott Angelbeck
Albert Wolcott Angelbeck “Al”, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Hartford at the age of 79. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1959 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering and went on to earn a Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from MIT as well. He married his wife Jeannette in 1974. Al enjoyed a successful career at United Technologies Research Center until his retirement in 1993. Al was an accomplished skier, sailor and tennis player in his younger years and when his health precluded him from partaking in these activities he took up photography and was a long time exhibitor at the Spring Street Gallery in Block Island. Al is survived by his wife Jeannette of South Glastonbury, his son and daughter-in-law Christoph and Alyssa and grandchildren Ella and Teddy of Darien, CT as well as two nieces Jeannette Hafeli and Alexandra Moser both living in Switzerland. A service will be held Thursday, September 15 at 11am at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. A reception will immediately follow at 2 Hopewell in South Glastonbury. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Al’s life. The family would like to thank the multiple doctors and nurses at Hartford Hospital who cared for Al over the past 8 months.
