Obituary of Cathleen M. Currie
Cathleen M. (Curran) Currie, 64, of Manchester, CT passed away peacefully Saturday morning at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pittsfield, MA on October 8, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Edward F. Curran and the late Patricia A. (Murphy) Curran of Pittsfield. Cathy was a 1971 graduate of Taconic High School and briefly attended North Adams State College. Her career included various positions in early childhood education and medical office administration, all in the Manchester area, though she was most fulfilled by her role as wife, mother, and most recently grandmother. A passionate UConn Women’s basketball fan, she also loved relaxing at Bonnet Shores Beach Club in Narragansett, RI and above all, time spent with her family. She is survived by her husband Alan S. Currie; her four children Jennifer L. Currie and her husband Michael Jannitto of Stratford, CT, Christopher A. Currallo and his wife Lyndsie of Leominster, MA, Geoffrey S. Currie of West Hartford, CT and Bryan P. Currie of New York, NY; and her three grandchildren Caitlyn M. and Meghan A. Jannitto and Parker S. Currallo. She is also survived by her four siblings Pamela A. Curran of Pittsfield, John E. Curran and his wife Barbara of Wethersfield, CT, David F. Curran and his wife Susan of Pittsfield, and Nancy C. Perry and her husband John of Groton, MA; her brother-in-law Paul M. Currie and his wife Rose of Chadds Ford, PA; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the Church of the Assumption, 29 Adams Street South, Manchester, CT. Everyone is invited to meet directly at church. A private burial will be held in Pittsfield, MA. Family and friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home 725 Hebron Ave, Glastonbury, CT on Friday (Nov. 24, 2017) from 4-8 PM.
