Obituary of Helen Pierce Stanley

Helen E. (Pierce) Stanley, 90, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of 71 years to Walter J. Stanley, died Wednesday November 22, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. Born October 26, 1927 in Manchester, CT, daughter of the late Glen and Helen (Loomis) Pierce, she had lived in Glastonbury the past 70 years. Helen was a member of the Glastonbury Senior Citizens Center and AARP, worked on the Sharing Tree at the center, and was a member of the choir at First Church of Christ. Helen loved music and spending time with her family. Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Donna and Fred Henrikson of Glastonbury, a daughter-in-law Debbie Stanley of Middletown, five grandchildren, Beth Pancavage of Glastonbury, Laura Hamlin of Franklin, Christopher Henrikson of Glastonbury, Dan Stanley and his wife Jessica of Glastonbury, Steve Stanley of MA, and four great grandchildren, Sara Pancavage of East Windsor, Gregory Pancavage of Glastonbury, Kyle Hamlin and Jacob Hamlin both of Franklin. She was predeceased by her son Gary Stanley. A memorial service will be held Tuesday Nov. 28 at 11am in the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 2183 Main St., Glastonbury. Private burial will be in Green Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Monday Nov. 27 from 5-7pm.
