Obituary of Evelyn Walker

Evelyn M. (Welch) Walker, 88, of Glastonbury, wife of the late John H. Walker, Sr., died Sunday July 29, 2012 at home. Born September 30, 1923 in East Hartford, daughter of the late John E. and Carrie (Taylor) Welch, she was a lifelong resident of Glastonbury. Prior to her retirement in 1992 she had worked at Kamin's Store for 37 years. She is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Barry and Linda Walker of Salem, John Jr. and Linda Walker of Marlborough, a daughter and son-in-law Geraldine and James Bollinger of Sunrise, FL, a sister Mildred Kocum of Glastonbury, 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Sherwood Welch and 2 sisters Lillian Weldon and Ruth Lester. Funeral service will be Friday Aug. 3 at 11am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday Aug. 2 from 6-8pm.
