She was born June 5, 1951 in Providence, Rhode Island to Elisha James (Dougie) and Priscilla Douglas. She married George Briggs on June 5, 1971 and he survives. They shared a love not often found, and were true soulmates for 48 years.
Carol is also survived by three daughters and six grandchildren, all of Glastonbury; Julie (Noel) Roche-Parrett, Pauline (James) Graef, and Kathy (Joshua) Johnson; four granddaughters Emily and Abigail Graef, Devyn Johnson and Lauren Parrett; two grandsons, Brayden Johnson and Thomas Parrett. Also surviving are her sister Barbara (Lester) Prelak of Florida and her brother James (Gwen) Douglas of Rhode Island. Carol was a long time resident of Glastonbury where she was a paraprofessional for Glastonbury Public Schools. She loved to spend time on her boat, Soulmates, and with her family. Watching her grandchildren grow up was the light of her life. Additionally, she loved to cheat while playing games, and she provided the glue to hold the family near and far together.
